After more than a year, cruising is finally back, and you might be wondering what to expect on your next vacation with Celebrity. Along with the award-winning service we’ve always provided, we’re implementing new protocols during this new era of cruising that we created in partnership with a team of medical and scientific advisors to make sure your vacation experience is as comfortable and safe as possible.
Aside from our company protocols, we’re also working with local governments at each of our destinations to make sure we comply with each country’s requirements. We will always let you know beforehand what will be required in each port before your departure.
For those joining us on a vacation at sea soon, here are all the ways we’re keeping you happy and healthy on board.
1: Vaccinations and Testing
Before you board your ship, you’ll arrive at the check-in terminal where you’ll need to present proof of vaccination. (Starting on August 1, all guests 12 years and older must be vaccinated to board our ships.) Unvaccinated children will need to take a COVID-19 test at the terminal. In some countries, you may be required to take a COVID-19 test, regardless of your vaccination status.
2: Wellness Screening
All of our guests are required to complete a wellness screening including a health questionnaire where you’ll answer simple health questions such as any recent Covid-19 exposure and a visual check.
3: Sanitizing Stations
We’ve added hand sanitizing stations from bow to stern. We are also requiring our guests to practice social distancing in certain public areas, such as the Theatre and restaurants.
4: Cleaning Protocols
We’ve always had impeccable sanitization standards, but we’ve taken our cleaning protocols to the next level. Throughout your stay, you’ll enjoy frequent launderings of linens, towels, and pillows with hospital-grade detergents. Plus, sanitization of high-touch surfaces like light switches and door handles, and complimentary face masks and hand sanitizers.
5: Air Filtration
Throughout the ship, we use an HVAC air purifying system that filters 100% fresh air through all of our spaces. Therefore, you can rest easy knowing that we have taken extra steps to make sure the air circulating on board is as clean as possible.
6: Fewer Guests
In order to allow for social distancing and a more comfortable cruising experience, we are sailing with fewer guests on board for more space and more luxury.
7: Shore Excursions
Part of the cruising experience is spending time discovering different ports, and our curated shore excursions extend the highest health and safety standards we’re following on board. Tours will be at reduced capacity and shared spaces, such as buses, will be sanitized regularly. We are also offering independent tours for those guests that prefer to travel alone or with their family or small group.
8: Medical Care
We’ve made our high-quality onboard medical care stronger than ever, with more doctors and nurses on each ship and state-of-the-art equipment enhancements. Our medical team will also help with medical evaluations, rapid testing, and other unforeseen issues to keep all of our guests safe and healthy until they return home.
9: Travel Requirements
Before sailing back to your disembarkation port, we’ll make sure you have all the necessary travel and testing requirements completed for a seamless return home.
